Provide First Call Support to co-location and network customers.
Monitor network health and responds to event alarms.
Analyse network traffic patterns and responds to security issues.
Assist with provisioning, implementation, and supporting of customers.
Work with Cisco, Juniper and Foundry router/switches, Netscreen and Juniper firewalls, and Foundry load balancers.
Create standards documentation, integration and deployments guides.
Create reference architecture designs and technical service descriptions.
Conduct proof of concept testing, TCO analysis and make technology recommendations to the business.
Contribute to development and integration of new projects and services.
Participate in RFP/RFI’s.
Identify and implement day-to-day process improvements.
Verify that backups run successfully overnight.
Resolve any outstanding missed and failed backups.
Provision and deprovison backups agents.
Provide advice and expertise leveraging emerging technologies to support our business objectives.
Establish Systems Administration standards, policies, and procedures that align to Cogeco Peer 1’s culture and vision.
Utilize these standards to implement upgrades and sustainment of System Infrastructure.
Provide security advice and support compliance initiatives to ensure the security and integrity of our customer facing systems.
Establish the needs of users and monitoring use access and security.
Install and testing new versions of the database management systems (DBMS).
Work within SLA’s and drive to get these down, providing world class services to clients.
Experience with task automation scripting using Python, Perl, Shell, or other UNIX based languages.
